Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin

We are here to help

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin (RHOW) is the only freestanding acute rehabilitation hospital in Wisconsin and will meet the growing rehabilitation needs of the region.  Our mission is to deliver comprehensive, high quality medical rehabilitation to persons with disability, so they can achieve their highest level of function.

We are a 40 bed rehabilitation program providing hospital level services to individuals recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological disorders, hip fractures, bilateral joint replacements, spinal cord injuries, and multiple trauma.

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin is a partnership between ProHealth Care and Centerre Healthcare. ProHealth Care is the largest healthcare provider in Waukesha County.  Centerre Healthcare, based in Nashville, Tennessee, is a national company dedicated to developing and operating rehabilitation hospitals in partnership with leading acute care hospitals. The partnership brings to the community a state of the art rehabilitation hospital which provides quality rehabilitative services in an attractive environment conducive to our healing mission.

Healing environment

All patient rooms are designed to support the model of care given.  The rooms are designed to improve the outcome of our patients.  Our location provides a view of a pond that animals explore and natural light to brighten up the building.  We have positive distractions, including art from Wisconsin artists, that try to give a calm presence to our patients.

Care at the Patient Side

The ideal patient experience from the time the patient arrives on the property until he or she leaves, with the focus on quality and safety.

We focus on the patient needs with the support of their family.  We continue to strive for the patient regaining normal function for the goal in becoming independent at their home.  This rehabilitation facility has adopted homelike/nonclinical strategies to help the patient regain their confidence.  Some of our strategies are: meals in our beautiful dining room and not in their bed, visitors in the "living room/family room" area, social and recreational activities outside of bedroom, and the ADL apartment to practice their home-like skills.
